Eleina Thomas is an attorney in Perez Morris’ Cleveland office and manages matters involving white-collar and criminal defense, commercial and consumer contract disputes, theft of trade secrets, government and internal investigations, and breaches of non-compete and non-solicitation covenants. Eleina’s legal practice encompasses criminal defense, business torts, insurance coverage refutations, and intricate commercial disputes across Federal, State, and local jurisdictions. Eleina is a Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel member providing criminal defense to indigent offenders charged with federal crimes in the Northern District of Ohio.
Eleina was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and Supervisor with the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, with nearly a decade of experience prosecuting high-profile, complex criminal cases. She established the nationally recognized Crime Strategies Unit; oversaw assistant prosecutors, crime analysts, investigators, and research specialists; and coordinated multiple task forces and investigations, leading to significant prosecutions of gang members and criminal organizations. Eleina also founded the Cuyahoga County Crime Gun Intelligence Center to address gun crimes. During her tenure as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Eleina was cross designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, which allowed her to prosecute cases in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
