Her practice focuses on business, labor & employment, securities, financial services, and premises liability litigation. She also brings a decade of experience as a National Labor Relations Board field examiner.
Karen has long supported the Legal Aid Society, having previously served as a board member, treasurer, and president. She is deeply committed to the organization’s mission of providing free legal services to low-income clients and promoting fairness in the justice system.
“I’m honored to continue my long-standing connection with the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland in this new role,” Karen said. “I am deeply committed to its mission of advancing justice, equity, and access for those who need it most.”
Legal Aid works to secure justice, equity, and opportunity for people with low incomes through dedicated legal representation and advocacy for systemic change. They envision a Northeast Ohio where everyone experiences dignity and justice, free from poverty and oppression.
Karen succeeds Melanie Shakarian, attorney and long-time Interim Director of Development and Communications, who is retiring at the end of February after more than two decades with the organization.
Congratulations to Karen on her new role as Interim Director of Development and Communications at the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland!
